Our Genmaicha tea is a cozy blend of premium sencha green tea with toasted & popped rice and comes from Miyazaki & Kagoshima, Japan. This tradition of adding rice to green tea dates back centuries—as the colder months started to settle in, rice was added to the last tea harvest in fall to ensure there was enough to sip all winter. The warm character of toasted rice brings a subtle, nutty sweetness to your cup, balancing perfectly with the fresh vegetal flavour of sencha. This bulk-size bag contains 250 g of loose leaf tea.

Smells like something burnt on the stove I didn't like it, the smell was what put me off. I found it smelled like something had burnt on the stove. The taste isn't bad though, like everyone has mentioned it tastes nutty with a hint of sweetness. Having said this, I don't regret trying it. It's just unfortunate that the smell puts me off.
